“Everything is wearisome beyond description. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied. No matter how much we hear, we are not content.” King Solomon, the Bible
How much is this statement true in the times we live in. We seem to be “chasing after the wind”, looking for ways to make us thinner, younger, smarter, calmer, artsier, more mature, brighter, richer, more fulfilled, more open, more accepting, more loving, more empathetic, more politically correct, more disrespectful, and I could go on and on!
Who or what are you chasing? Maybe someone or something is chasing you! Are you catching it or does it allude you? Are you winning the race or losing it? Are you chasing after the “wind”? Should you be chasing something of substance instead of style…
Tom Petty captured part of it in his song, Running Down a Dream.
“Yeah runnin’ down a dream that never would come to me. Workin’ on a mystery, goin’ wherever it leads. Runnin’ down a dream.”
Live in the moment today and look for the mystery of life. May you experience love, truth, joy, and redemption. And may you stop chasing after the “wind”!
